1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using EmoCall, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the app.

3. Account and Session

• EmoCall uses private sessions tied to your device. No registration is required.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device.
• If you delete the app or clear data, your session (including Time Bank balance and Aura points) may be lost.
• Backup & Restore: You can create an encrypted backup code protected by a 6-digit PIN to transfer your session to a new device. Keep your backup code and PIN secure.
• You are responsible for keeping your backup code and PIN confidential.

4. The Service

EmoCall connects users for peer support voice calls starting with 1 minute of free time, extendable up to 60 minutes. The service includes:

• Mood Selection: Choose "I Need to Share" or "I Can Listen" to match with compatible users
• Topic-Based Matching: Users select a support topic and are matched with peers in complementary moods
• Voice Calls: Time-limited private calls with optional paid extensions using Time Bank minutes
• Time Bank: Purchase minutes to extend calls and refill daily matches
• Aura System: Earn Aura points for positive participation and unlock titles
• Referral Program: Invite friends and both receive bonus minutes

5. User Conduct

You agree NOT to:

• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Share explicit sexual content or engage in sexual conversations without consent
• Discriminate based on race, gender, religion, sexuality, or other characteristics
• Share personal identifying information (yours or others')
• Record, screenshot, or otherwise capture conversations
• Use the service for commercial purposes or solicitation
• Attempt to identify or contact users outside the app
• Threaten self-harm or harm to others
• Discuss illegal activities or encourage illegal behavior
• Use the service while impaired by drugs or alcohol in a way that affects your judgment

Violation of these rules may result in Aura point deduction, temporary suspension, or permanent ban.

6. Time Bank and Payments

6.1 Time Packages

Purchase minutes to add to your Time Bank:

6.2 Time Bank Usage

• New users start with 30 minutes in their Time Bank
• Shuffle deck / refill daily matches: 10 minutes
• Call extensions: 10 min, 20 min, 30 min, or 60 min (1:1 cost from Time Bank)
• Premium subscription: $10/month (includes 30 bonus minutes)

6.3 Daily Matches

• You receive 3 free matches per day
• Additional matches can be refilled using 10 minutes from your Time Bank
• Daily matches reset at midnight UTC
• Unused daily matches do not carry over to the next day

6.4 Time Refunds

If a call ends early after you purchase an extension (e.g., partner disconnects), unused time is automatically refunded to your Time Bank.

6.5 Payment Processing

• Mobile (iOS/Android): Payments are processed through RevenueCat and the respective app stores
• Web: Payments are processed through Stripe

6.6 Refund Policy

All purchases are final. Time Bank minutes and premium subscriptions are non-refundable except as required by law. If you experience a technical issue preventing use of purchased minutes, contact us within 48 hours.

7. Premium Subscription

• Premium costs $10/month and includes 30 bonus minutes at subscription
• Premium features include gender filter on daily cards and priority matching
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
• You can cancel anytime through your device's app store (iOS/Android) or Stripe customer portal (web)

8. Referral Program

EmoCall offers a "Give 60, Get 60" referral program:

• Share your unique 6-character referral code with friends
• Your friend receives 60 bonus minutes when they sign up with your code
• You receive 60 bonus minutes after your friend completes their first call (minimum 3 minutes)
• Referral rewards are added to your Time Bank automatically
• Abuse of the referral program (self-referrals, fake accounts) may result in forfeiture of rewards and account suspension

9. Aura System

Aura points reflect your participation quality and unlock achievement titles. New users start with 1,000 Aura points.

• During call: +1 Aura per second
• Complete a 60+ minute call: +100 Aura bonus
• Extend a call 30+ minutes: +50 Aura
• Extend a call 5-29 minutes: +20 Aura
• Submit feedback after a call: +100 Aura
• Daily check-in: +5 Aura
• First call completed: +50 Aura bonus
• Get reported: -500 Aura

There are 10 Aura levels: New Soul (1,000+), Kind Listener (2,000+), Empathetic Soul (3,500+), Trusted Companion (5,500+), Guardian Angel (8,000+), Heart of Gold (12,000+), Radiant Spirit (18,000+), Celestial Guide (26,000+), Eternal Light (36,000+), and Aura Legend (50,000+). Higher levels unlock exclusive titles but do not provide monetary benefits.

10. Reporting and Safety

• You can report users for violations during or after a call
• We take reports seriously and investigate all claims
• False reports may result in penalties to your account
• If you feel unsafe, end the call immediately

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

EmoCall is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

• Continuous, uninterrupted access to the service
• The quality or reliability of matches
• That other users will follow these terms
• Any specific emotional outcomes from using the service

12. Limitation of Liability

EmoCall is not a substitute for professional mental health support. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a professional helpline in your area.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, EmoCall and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless EmoCall and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service or violation of these terms.

14. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to EmoCall at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe:

• Violates these Terms of Service
• Is harmful to other users or the service
• Violates applicable laws

Upon termination, your Time Bank balance and Aura points are forfeited.

15. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. Significant changes will be notified through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

16. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where EmoCall operates. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration.
